ADAnnouncing ClockSquad: Integrated Agile PM & Time Tracking
Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of ClockSquad, a project management system with integrated time tracking.
We didn’t build this to jump on a startup trend. We built ClockSquad because we were forced to use other tools. We hated them.
For years, we’ve found ourselves bouncing between fractured systems: bloated task boards for project tracking, separate logging apps for hours, and manual spreadsheets to stitch it all together. We were paying multiple subscriptions, context-switching dozens of times a day, and micromanaging our seat lists just to avoid billing surprises.
When we wanted basic team roles or simple client invoicing, we were hit with paywalls demanding we upgrade to overpriced “Enterprise” plans.
So, we sat down and built our own solution.
The Manifesto: Features are a Right, Not a Luxury
ClockSquad is a project and time tracking workspace built by developers, for developers and small squads. We wanted a tool that respects our workflow and our wallets.
Our philosophy is simple: a 5-person startup deserves the same professional project management power and reporting depth as a 500-person agency.
We designed the platform around three core pillars:
- A Unified Workspace Loop: Agile project management and precise timekeeping live in the same UI. You can ship software in sprints, drag tasks on structured Agile Sprint boards, and track hours directly against user stories in a single click.
- Predictable Flat Pricing: No “per-seat” monthly seat math. You pay a single flat rate per workspace based on seat brackets (like $9/mo flat for up to 10 users). If you invite a freelancer or a client to collaborate, guest accounts are always 100% free and don’t count toward your seat limit.
- No Gated Paywalls: Every single feature—including granular team roles, client invoicing, and bulk time log editing—is fully unlocked on every plan, including the Free Solo tier.
A Solid Engineering Foundation
Because we built this for ourselves and security-conscious teams, we also re-thought how tenant data is stored. Instead of dumping everyone into a massive shared database separated only by a foreign key, ClockSquad isolates every workspace into its own dedicated, physical database file.
This database-per-tenant architecture ensures that your client lists, internal hourly cost rates, and project scopes are physically isolated and easy to back up, export, or completely delete at the filesystem layer.
Built to Evolve
ClockSquad is a constant work-in-progress. We aren’t feature-complete, and we may never have every single niche feature under the sun. Instead of chasing bloat, we are focused on maintaining a clean, highly reliable core workspace that evolves over time.
